 Grand Master Dong Jin Kim has made the martial arts his life's work he has been studying and teaching for over 46 years. He is a Grand Master in four martial arts and holds a Master's rating in several more. Over the years as Master Kim's has been teaching law enforcement, corrections, and military he has selected specific techniques from his vast repertoire to create Jigo Tensin-Ryu. These moves cover the full force continuum up to and including deadly force.
The techniques begin with learning to fall correctly so as to prevent injury. They move from there to simple control moves utilizing gross motor skills, kicks delivered to the legs, elbow and hand strikes to the torso and head, up to lethal techniques for special operations officers. His training has a strong ground fighting component providing both defensive and offensive moves which can easily end up in handcuffing position. Master Kim has also developed baton techniques which flow naturally into control and handcuffing moves. This is not Hollywood style martial arts but low profile street effective training which allows the officer to dominate his environment without creating unnecessary use of force complaints.
